You
may be eligible for Chapter 1607 benefits if you:
* were activated after September 11, 2001
AND
* had 90 days of active duty (effective
date being December 9, 2001)
Required
Documents
* Copy of Activation Orders
* Notice of Basic Eligibility (NOBE)
* DD-214
* Any other evidence of qualifying service
If
you are already established as Chapter 1606 and meet the criteria for Chapter
1607, you must:
* complete a VA-FORM 1995 (Change of Program)
* write “1607” at the top of
the form
If eligible for 1607 for past semesters & would like to request retroactive
benefits, you must specifically request these benefits.
* For example: “I
wish to be paid any retroactive benefits as far back as I am eligible.”
(As suggested by the Department of Veterans Affairs)
NOTE: Eligibility for two programs extends benefits from 36 months to 48 months of entitlement
If you are not established as Chapter 1606 and may be eligible for 1607, you
must:
* complete a VA-FORM 1990 (Application for
VA Benefits)
* write “1607” at the top of
the form

BE HAPPY TO MAIL THEM.
