About the Veterans Affairs Office
The Veterans Affairs Office at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi welcomes all active duty servicemembers, veterans, and dependents, and strives to assist with the transition from military to academic life. Enrollment certifications are submitted to the Department of Veterans Affairs for students eligible for Montgomery GI Bill benefits. The exemption of tuition and fees under the Hazlewood Act is requested for qualified Texas veterans and dependents.

Mission Statement
The mission of the Veterans Affairs Office is to:

  • Commit to recruiting, retaining, and supporting active duty servicemembers, veterans, and dependents to maintain a diverse and highly qualified student body, faculty, and staff
  • Assist students in receiving entitled veterans educational benefits and in achieving educational goals
  • Assist students in making the transition from military to academic life
  • Expand military-friendly services and programs for America's returning military members by preparing for the implementation of the Post 9/11 Veterans Education Assistance Act of 2008
  • Adopt a Military Student Bill of Rights and participation in the Servicemembers Opportunity Colleges
  • Encourage student organizations such as the United Student Veteran Organization and the Islander ROTC Battalion
